Beachlands Residential Care Home

Beachlands Residential Care Home provides personal care to 21 older people, with capacity for up to 29. Residents include those living with the frailties of old age and some with dementia. The home has made notable improvements following the previous inspection, including better management of skin care risks, improved accident recording, and enhanced staff training in dementia support. Staff receive regular supervision to support their work.

Residents' needs around eating and drinking are carefully assessed, with individualised support provided. Care plans capture people's life histories and preferences. The home supports residents to participate in activities that are meaningful to them. While record-keeping has been improved, further enhancements are needed to ensure documentation fully reflects residents' needs and the level of support and encouragement they require, particularly regarding activity engagement. Quality assurance systems continue to be developed to more effectively identify all areas requiring improvement.
