Apple Blossom Court

Apple Blossom Court provides accommodation and personal care for up to 17 people across three floors in one adapted building. At inspection, 10 people were living at the home. Inspectors found the service was not meeting some key principles for supporting people with learning disabilities and autism. The design of accommodation and delivery of support did not adequately promote people's dignity, independence, or skill development. Some people's needs and preferences clashed when using communal areas, leading to negative experiences, isolation, and people choosing to remain in their bedrooms.

Staff numbers were insufficient to meet identified support needs and complete necessary tasks. The home was clean and had implemented COVID-19 prevention measures, but improvements were needed in how the building was used and how support was delivered to enable people to live more independently and enjoy their home in an ordinary, everyday manner.
