Amber House - Coventry

Amber House in Coventry provides personal care to up to 15 older people, some of whom live with dementia. The home is arranged over two floors, accessible by stairs and a stair lift, with residents having their own rooms and shared bathroom facilities. At inspection, 13 people were living at the service.

Inspectors found significant concerns with environmental and infection control measures. The service was not adequately clean, staff did not consistently wear Personal Protective Equipment correctly, and uncovered hot water pipes posed a burn risk to residents. Systems to monitor environmental and infection risks were not robust. The provider took immediate action to address these identified issues.
