Alton Manor Care Home - Portsmouth

This residential care home provides personal care for up to 34 people living with dementia and physical frailty in one adapted building. At inspection, 25 people were residing at the home with one person in hospital.

Infection control processes were not always managed safely and placed people at risk of harm. Current guidance on isolation of people on admission was not always followed. Staff did not consistently support people to have maximum choice and control of their lives, nor did they always support them in the least restrictive way possible. The home's policies and systems did not adequately support these practices.
