Aldercar Residential Care Home

Aldercar Residential Care Home, in Nottinghamshire, provides residential care for up to 28 people, including some living with dementia or with mental health needs. The CQC rated the home inadequate overall and has placed it in special measures. Inspectors found serious failings in safety, staffing, medicines management, care planning and governance, with poor oversight and incomplete records leaving people at risk.

Staff were often described as kind, but rushed, and people said they had little choice or involvement in their care. A new management team had recently started making changes, improving morale, but this had not yet led to safe, consistent, person-centred care.
