Albany House - Bognor Regis

Albany House in Bognor Regis provides accommodation and support for up to 12 people with mental health conditions, learning disabilities and/or autism. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to risk and medicines management, personalised care and governance. Staff had not received all the training needed to support people with learning disabilities and autism, and the provider has since removed its specialist registration for this group.

Despite these shortfalls, people and relatives spoke warmly of the care, describing staff as kind, attentive and skilled at keeping them safe. Food, activities and the homely atmosphere were praised. Inspectors found no evidence to support concerns that had prompted the assessment, but asked the provider for an action plan to address the issues identified.
