The CQC rated the home Requires Improvement overall, finding a breach relating to staffing and training: new staff did not always receive a proper induction, and refresher training was inconsistent. Inspectors also found gaps in governance checks, nutrition monitoring, care plans, and some environmental concerns, though refurbishment was being considered.

Caring and responsive care were rated Good, with people seen interacting well with staff and taking part in activities. Feedback from relatives was mixed on some aspects of care, but all spoke positively about the registered manager and the support provided.

Date of assessment 28 February to 12 March 2024. We found one breach in relation staffing and the training staff received. We found new staff were not receiving an appropriate induction and other staff were not always completing refresher training to ensure their knowledge and skills were in line with current best practice. We found the providers statement of purpose and policies around safeguarding needed updating, which the provider complete during the inspection process. We found governance checks were completed but they were not always robust. We found some concern with monitoring charts for nutrition and care plans out of place. We found some concerns within the environment and were made aware refurbishment plans were being considered
