About Ada Belfield Centre

Ada Belfield Centre is a residential care home in Derbyshire, providing long-term care for older people alongside a therapy unit supporting rehabilitation after hospital stays. Further detail on the CQC's most recent findings is set out below.

Ada Belfield Centre provides residential care for up to 40 people aged 65 and over, currently supporting 25 residents. The service operates across two floors with four units: Arkwright and Derwent for people with longer-term care needs, and Strutt, a therapy unit offering community support beds for people requiring rehabilitation after hospital stays. The centre aims to support discharge back home for rehabilitation patients.

Inspectors found that medicines were not always safely recorded and the home did not consistently learn from incidents when things went wrong. However, people felt safe living at the centre and appropriate systems were in place to protect residents from abuse. The home's approach to managing people's risks was established and functioning.
