Abbeygate is a care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 20 older people, some living with dementia. The CQC's latest assessment found the service had improved since its previous requires improvement rating and is now rated good overall, with the earlier breaches relating to safe care and governance resolved.

Inspectors found staff managed risks and medicines safely, knew people well, and supported them to maintain independence. People and relatives spoke positively about their care, describing staff as kind and helpful. Staffing levels were adequate, though further work was needed on completing staff training and strengthening some governance processes.
