Abbey Care Complex

Abbey Care Complex supports up to 50 people, predominantly older adults with nursing care needs or living with dementia. The purpose-built home spans four floors, with residential areas on the upper three levels. At inspection, 44 people were using the service.

Staff numbers were adequate and recruitment practices were robust. Medicines were managed safely and systems were in place to protect people from abuse. However, risk assessments lacked sufficient detail and important information about mitigating risks. There were no established cleaning schedules for communal areas, and quality assurance systems were not consistently effective. People and relatives indicated the quality of food could be improved.
