This residential care home provides personal care for up to 40 adults with learning disabilities and autism across 16 flats on site, along with a learning centre and coffee shop. At inspection, 39 people were living at the service. During the pandemic, the home implemented several effective practices to support residents and staff. Learning sessions helped people understand social distancing and new greetings like elbow dabs to reduce anxiety during lockdown. When Covid-19 cases were suspected or confirmed, the affected flat was completely locked down with two dedicated staff members working alternating shifts until isolation ended. The service also arranged lift-sharing for staff who relied on public transport, reducing infection risks for both employees and residents. Throughout the pandemic, the home maintained adequate PPE stocks and purchased additional supplies in preparation for potential second waves.
