The Millfield

The Millfield is a residential care home providing personal care and accommodation for up to 45 people near Keswick town centre. At the time of inspection, 43 people were living there, including a designated 10-bed unit for people living with dementia. The home maintains sufficient numbers of suitably qualified staff to meet people's needs, with residents and relatives confirming staff are always available to assist them. Staff have completed training enabling them to deliver effective care and support while enabling people to have maximum choice and control over their lives in the least restrictive way possible.

Medications are stored and managed safely, with people receiving prescribed medicines as intended. The home caters for individual food preferences and specific health and dietary requirements, with staff providing appropriate support for those needing extra help with eating and drinking. One resident commented, "The food is good, very good and you get a good choice." Dining is pleasant, sociable and personalised, creating a positive mealtime experience for residents.
