About The Headington Care Home

The Headington Care Home, in Oxfordshire, provides nursing and personal care to up to 56 people, including some on short stays following hospital discharge. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding breaches relating to safe care, safeguarding and governance. Inspectors found poor environmental hygiene, staffing levels that were not always sufficient, and care plans lacking clear, person-centred guidance.

Audits had failed to pick up cleanliness concerns already identified previously.

Staff were found to be kind and compassionate, respecting people's rights and supporting access to healthcare. However, some people told inspectors they felt isolated and lacked stimulation, and both residents and relatives said they did not always feel listened to, despite speaking positively about the management team.
