Could the NHS fund The Elms's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
The Elms provides accommodation and care for up to ten people with learning disabilities, some with physical disabilities, and some on the autistic spectrum. The service operates from a detached two-story building within a village-style development. At the time of inspection, eight people were living at the home.
The service maintains good overall standards of care and support. There is a registered manager in place running the service. However, inspectors identified that care plans were not always completely up to date and reviews including risk assessments had not been undertaken to the required frequency, resulting in the responsive domain being rated as Requires Improvement.
