Springfield House

Springfield House is a residential care home for up to four people with learning disabilities, some of whom are older. The property is a farmhouse in a rural setting with a large garden, run by provider and manager Margaret Blair and her family, who also live there. The home has single bedrooms for residents and shared communal spaces including a lounge, kitchen and dining area. The home does not provide nursing care.

The service is designed around person-centred support that promotes control, choice and independence for people with learning disabilities. During the inspection, residents were observed to be relaxed and comfortable in the home, despite finding it difficult to express themselves verbally. The home operates with a focus on enabling people to live meaningful and fulfilling lives.
