About Spring Cottage

Spring Cottage is a residential care home in Lancashire, offering personal care for older people in single rooms with communal areas and gardens. Further details from the Care Quality Commission's most recent inspection are set out below.

Spring Cottage Care Home provides personal care and accommodation for up to 24 people in single rooms, with communal areas and gardens. At inspection, 21 people were living in the home. The home had implemented clear visiting procedures with a separate lodge for visitors, which enabled relatives to visit safely while maintaining infection control.

Staff completed Covid-19 lateral flow tests for all visiting relatives, and a dedicated area was available for donning and doffing personal protective equipment.

The provider prioritised staff wellbeing during the pandemic, offering access to mental health support and regular training on infection prevention and use of PPE. The registered manager maintained regular contact with staff who were shielding or isolating. The home worked collaboratively with local authority infection prevention control nurses and attended regular local authority webinars to stay informed of best practices.
