Sandgate Manor

Sandgate Manor provides accommodation and personal care to 18 people, with capacity for up to 22. The service supports people with learning disabilities, autism, and physical disabilities across one main adapted building and three single-person lodges on the grounds.

Inspectors found that people were not always supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives, and staff did not consistently support them in the least restrictive way possible. There were no formal plans in place to help people maintain or increase their independence, and staff did not always support people to achieve their aspirations and goals. People's sensory needs had not been assessed. However, the service was working to improve accessibility, with some improvements already completed. The home needs to review its processes for formally assessing and supporting residents' goals and aspirations.
