Roman House

Roman House provides accommodation and personal care for up to 8 people, including people with a learning disability and autistic people. The CQC rated the service Requires Improvement overall, finding shortfalls in medicines management, staffing levels and environmental safety, alongside inconsistent leadership and quality assurance. A new manager had recently started, and senior leaders acknowledged the issues and committed to improvements.

Inspectors found staff were caring and knew people well, and safeguarding procedures were effective, but staffing pressures sometimes limited how well individual needs and preferences could be met. People using the service told the CQC they felt happy and safe. Care was not always fully person-centred, and governance systems needed strengthening to ensure consistent, safe support.
