About Ridge House Residential Care Home

Ridge House Residential Care Home is a residential care home in Devon, offering personal care for older people, including those living with dementia. The most recent CQC findings for the home are set out below.

Ridge House Residential Care Home in provides personal care for up to 15 older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC found the service required improvement overall, with breaches relating to premises and equipment and to governance. Inspectors found the building neglected, with unrepaired roof leaks, worn furnishings and unsafe equipment, and said the provider had not acted on staff concerns or worked openly with the CQC and local authority.

Despite these failings, the registered manager was found to provide good day-to-day care. People and their relatives spoke warmly of staff and the atmosphere, describing it as friendly and homely, though several relatives criticised the provider's approach. The provider has since informed the CQC it intends to place the service into liquidation.
