Primroses Home

Primroses Home accommodates up to 3 people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. At inspection, all 3 places were filled, with residents having their own bedrooms and access to shared communal spaces including lounges, kitchen and garden.

Inspectors identified significant concerns with medicines management. Two residents were prescribed medicines on a when-needed basis, but the home lacked appropriate protocols to guide staff on when and how to administer these medications. Staff did not have clear information about circumstances requiring the medicine or correct dosages. The provider's quality assurance systems failed to identify these issues. Following inspection, the provider submitted evidence of improvements made to medicines management.

The home supported residents to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff working in the least restrictive way possible in residents' best interests.
