About Place Farm House

Place Farm House is a residential care home in Brighton and Hove. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Place Farm House provides accommodation with personal care for up to 20 people, though currently supports 13 due to ongoing building work. Residents have diverse care needs including frailty, dementia, and Parkinson's disease, with accommodation spread across two floors. However, inspectors identified significant concerns during their visit.

Staffing levels at night were insufficient to ensure people's safety, and mealtime risks were not adequately managed. Some residents and visitors found the building work noisy and disruptive, feeling the provider had not prioritized their comfort during this period. Positive measures were in place to protect people from abuse, and residents reported receiving safe care overall.
