Pinewood Residential Home

Pinewood Residential Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 35 people, including older people and those living with dementia. The CQC found the home requires improvement overall. Inspectors identified breaches relating to safe care and treatment, consent to care, staff training and governance, and were not assured that quality systems were used effectively.

People and relatives spoke positively about staff kindness, safety and responsiveness, saying there were enough staff and medical needs were addressed promptly. However, inspectors found gaps in involving people in care reviews, in following the Mental Capacity Act, and in medicines management and premises safety, meaning some areas fell short of expected standards.
