OSJCT Ridgeway House

Ridgeway House provides care for up to 43 older people, including those living with dementia. At inspection, 36 residents were living at the home. The service has been proactive in promoting the essential care giver role, with each person assigned a named care giver. During the pandemic, the registered manager held weekly video meetings with relatives to keep them updated and answer queries, while also producing a newsletter to maintain communication.

The service has introduced strong infection prevention measures, including screening visitors for COVID-19 and providing personal protective equipment. Staff have received training on infection prevention and control measures and safe PPE use. PPE was readily available throughout the service and staff were observed using it effectively. Staff competence and knowledge are regularly assessed to maintain standards of care.
