Oriel Care Home

Oriel Care Home provides accommodation and personal care to up to 33 older adults, people living with dementia and people with mental health needs. The service is separated into three areas including a smaller building accommodating four people and a larger building with two separate areas, each with its own lounge and dining room.

At inspection, concerns were identified around fire safety procedures, with some staff not having practiced evacuation drills or understanding emergency procedures. Additionally, a lack of analysis of incidents for people experiencing mental health-related distress meant they risked not receiving appropriate care. However, people using the service told inspectors they felt safe, and the home maintained clean premises.
