Orchid House

Orchid House provides personal care and support for six adults with learning disabilities and autism, accommodating five people in the main building and one in a self-contained annexe. People using the service felt safe, with staff trained to recognise abuse and confident in reporting concerns. Risk assessments enabled residents to maintain independence safely, and sufficient staff with appropriate skills were on duty to meet their needs. Medicines were managed safely, and staff received regular training and support to maintain their knowledge.

The home supported people to have maximum choice and control over their lives, providing care in the least restrictive way possible while acting in their best interests. Residents were provided with a varied diet meeting their individual needs and preferences. People attended regular health appointments and annual reviews, with staff working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support and guidance.
