About Orchid House

Orchid House is a residential care home in Swindon, offering accommodation and personal support for people with a learning disability and autistic people. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

Orchid House provides accommodation and personal support for people with a learning disability and autistic people. The CQC found the service was performing well, having made improvements since an earlier breach was identified. Staff now provided 1:1 support in line with care plans, and additional training in dignity, respect and least restrictive practice had taken place.

Relatives told inspectors they felt family members were safe, well supported and involved in decisions about risk and care planning. People had good access to activities and healthcare, though inspectors noted some staff still spoke about people while they were present, and could not be fully assured this did not affect them.
