Orchard House Nursing Home

This nursing home provides care for up to 44 older people, specialising in end of life care. During inspection, 34 people were using the service. Staff maintained safety systems to protect people from harm, with risk assessments in place and action taken to mitigate identified risks. People received support to make choices about their lives in the least restrictive way possible. Medicines were managed safely and in line with prescriptions, while infection control procedures ensured a clean, hygienic environment.

The service gathered feedback from people, relatives, staff and visiting professionals, using this to develop a responsive approach to meeting individual needs. People, relatives and staff felt comfortable speaking openly with the registered manager and reported feeling listened to by leadership.
