About Meridan House

Meridan House, in Barnet, is a residential care home supporting people living with mental health issues, and is currently rated Requires Improvement by the CQC. Inspectors found the provider had not acted promptly after a known safety event, and had not carried out audits to confirm people remained safe afterwards. Shortfalls were also found in infection control, some risk assessments and care plans, and in the service's overall governance.

Despite this, inspectors found a positive culture, with staff described as kind and well supported, properly trained and safely recruited. The person receiving care spoke positively about staff, food and daily life at the home, and their relative also praised the care provided.
