About Mayfield House

Mayfield House is a residential care home in Cheshire East, providing support for older people, including those living with dementia. Details of the CQC's most recent findings are set out below.

Mayfield House, in Cheshire East, is a residential care home providing support for up to 51 older people, including those living with dementia. The CQC rated the service inadequate and has placed it in special measures. Inspectors found risks, including falls, were not always properly assessed or managed, safeguarding concerns were not always identified, staff training and deployment fell short, and parts of the building were not dementia friendly.

Care plans lacked detail and people were not always helped to make decisions about their care in line with the Mental Capacity Act. Governance systems were ineffective and some incidents were not reported to the CQC as required. Feedback on staff kindness and food was positive, and the registered manager was responsive and already making changes, but significant improvement is needed.
