Maple Leaf House

Maple Leaf House provides nursing care to up to 48 older people and those with dementia in a purpose-built home across three wings on one floor. The service includes communal lounges, dining areas, quiet spaces, and secure outdoor access. At inspection, 45 people were using the service.

Staff numbers were adequate to meet residents' needs, though increased use of agency staff had affected the quality of person-centered care. Safeguarding processes were robust and protected people from abuse. Staff supported residents with maximum choice and control, using the least restrictive approaches and acting in their best interests.

However, records for medicines were not always completed properly and disposal procedures did not always follow best practice guidance. Risk assessments were not consistently reviewed following changes in residents' needs or after incidents. The home was clean and well maintained.
