Lovat House Residential Care is a friendly residential home in Wokingham, offering older people a comfortable and familiar place to call home. The team there understands how much thought goes into choosing the right care for a loved one, and they aim to make both residents and their families feel at ease from the very first visit.
Lovat House Residential Care provides personal care to up to 25 older people in an adapted three-storey building. At inspection, 15 people were using the service.
The home's governance systems were not effective in overseeing the service or supporting its management. Staff, including agency workers, had not received appropriate training to carry out their roles safely and effectively. Supervisions and appraisals were not being conducted in line with the provider's policy to support staff development, though staff reported feeling supported in their work.
