Hazel Villa is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to 8 people who have primarily mental health needs. The service was registered with us on 12 July 2024, and this is the first inspection since registration. We therefore looked at all Quality Statements within the 5 key questions of safe, effective, caring, responsive and well led. We carried out an unannounced site visit to the service on 14 and 18 November 2024, at the time there were 7 people living at Hazel Villa. The last rating for the service under the previous provider was inadequate, published on 8 March 2024. The overall rating for this service is now Good. We found significant improvement in all aspects of the service and outcomes for people using the service. The service had inclusive leaders who had the skills, knowledge, experience and credibility to lead effectively. The ethos, attitudes and behaviours of leaders and care staff supported people to lead confident, inclusive and empowered lives. People lived in a home that was open, positive, inclusive and centred around them.
