Hawthorn Lodge Care Home

Hawthorn Lodge Care Home is a residential care home in the community, supporting up to 60 older people, including those living with dementia and physical disabilities. At the time of the CQC assessment, 39 people were living there. The home remains rated Requires Improvement overall.

Inspectors found care plans were not kept up to date, and people were not always supported well with eating, drinking or health monitoring. Staff did not always respond promptly to call bells, and people felt their dignity and preferences were not always respected. A new manager had made some progress, but the provider remained in breach of regulations covering safe care, person-centred care and governance.
