Could the NHS fund Garson House Care Home's fees?
NHS Continuing Healthcare could cover 100% of care costs with no means test.
Garson House accommodates 13 people with conditions associated with old age including dementia. The home is located in a small town center with accessible ground floor communal lounges and dining areas, while most bedrooms are on the first floor served by a passenger lift. At inspection, 12 people were living at the service.
Following previous concerns about unsafe care due to incomplete records and inadequate safety monitoring, the provider implemented monthly audits and strengthened governance frameworks with local authority support. Environmental management and safety protocols have since improved through financial investment and structural changes. Residents reported feeling safe, and staff demonstrated knowledge of how to identify and report safeguarding concerns.
