Forest Care Village Elstree and Borehamwood

Forest Care Village Elstree and Borehamwood provides nursing and personal care for up to 178 people across three communities, supporting general nursing needs, brain injury or physical disability, and dementia care. The CQC found a mixed picture, with breaches identified around medicines management, infection control, risk management and person-centred care. The provider responded to concerns raised during the visits.

Inspectors found views on care quality varied, with some residents happy and others concerned about care standards, the environment and social opportunities. Care for people unable to express their views was often task-focused, with limited meaningful engagement. On the Rainforest Community, supporting people living with dementia, care did not always meet residents' emotional and social needs.
