Fairplay - Home Based Support Service

Fairplay provides overnight respite care for up to two people and domiciliary care services for children and younger adults up to age twenty-five, operating from a day care centre. At inspection, fifteen people were receiving personal care as part of their care packages.

People received safe care from staff who knew them well, with potential risks to health and safety properly assessed. Staff demonstrated safe moving and handling techniques using suitable equipment, and each person had a dedicated small team providing their care. Medicines were stored, managed and disposed of safely, with trained staff supporting people to take their medications. The service had systems in place to promote infection control and learned from incidents when things went wrong.

People were supported to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff supporting them in the least restrictive way possible, in line with service policies and practices.
