Elm Lodge Nursing and Residential Home

Elm Lodge provides personal and nursing care to up to 64 older and younger people, including those living with dementia and physical disabilities. The service occupies a large three-storey building with separate adapted facilities on each floor, communal spaces, and a shared garden. At inspection, 59 people were using the service.

However, inspectors found that people were often bored with little to do. While some planned events took place, residents were not consistently engaged in meaningful activities or given opportunities for regular, informal conversations with staff members.
