Coney Green Residential Home

Coney Green provides personal and nursing care for up to nine people with learning disabilities and physical disabilities or long-term conditions. At inspection, eight people were living in the home. Staff demonstrated understanding of supporting people with dignity and respect, and people were clearly comfortable, relaxed and happy around care staff. Staff had very good knowledge of people's health conditions and the support they required, with training provided to help staff understand people's individual circumstances. Staff understood how to keep people safe and knew who to report concerns to.

During inspection, two minor incidents of staff not following best practice in infection prevention and control were observed and addressed immediately by the registered manager. One incident involved a staff member using their personal mobile phone in a person's bedroom when the person was present, which was also addressed immediately when brought to the manager's attention. The provider had developed a range of audits and quality assurance checks to assist with driving improvement within the service.
