Claremont Nursing Home

Claremont provides nursing care and specialist dementia care across two ground floor units, Claremont House and the Lodge, serving 42 people with capacity for 52. However, inspectors found that people did not always receive good quality, compassionate and individualised care. Safeguarding processes were insufficient, with actions to detect, investigate and report abuse or neglect not meeting required standards. The local authority had received a high number of safeguarding referrals from relatives and external professionals raising concerns about people's care, and poor record keeping made some concerns difficult to investigate.

Care records were poorly completed and did not consistently reflect that people were receiving personalised care according to their assessed needs. Adults at risk were not always effectively safeguarded in a timely manner, indicating significant gaps in the home's ability to protect vulnerable residents.
