Camberwell Lodge

Camberwell Lodge is a residential care home providing nursing and personal care to up to 98 people, most of whom have needs associated with older age. Inspectors found significant improvement since the previous inspection, when many people and relatives had been unhappy with care. Most people now spoke positively about staff, describing them as kind, skilled and family-like.

Despite this progress, the CQC found safety and leadership still require improvement, though the provider was no longer in breach of regulations. A minority of residents felt more activities were needed for those unable to join communal sessions, and inspectors said the environment could better reflect best practice for people living with dementia.
