Buckler's Lodge Care Home

Buckler's Lodge Care Home is a care home without nursing for older people, including those living with dementia, physical disabilities and sensory impairments. Following concerns about safety, medicine management and oversight, the CQC rated the service Requires Improvement, identifying continued and new breaches relating to safeguarding, staff recruitment, medicine management, staffing levels and governance. Care plans and risk records lacked detail, and staff did not always know people's individual needs.

Inspectors did find some positive practice: the home was clean, infection control was managed well, and people were supported to see healthcare professionals. People and relatives generally described staff as kind and caring, though some felt unsure who the registered manager was and lacked meaningful activity or involvement in reviewing their care.
