Bickerton House

Bickerton House is a care home with nursing for up to 77 people, with a specialist dementia unit. At inspection, 20 people were living across two floors of the purpose-built home. Staff had completed safeguarding training and effectively identified and managed risks to keep people safe. The registered manager ensured adequate staffing with the right skills mix, and all staff had undergone robust recruitment checks. People received their medicines safely, and the home maintained high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to reduce infection risk.

Care was tailored to meet people's physical, emotional and social needs, with staff working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure outcomes improved as people's needs changed. Staff emphasised healthy eating and drinking, supporting people to maintain balanced diets. The home invested in staff development, ensuring they had the skills and knowledge needed to provide effective support.
