Averill House

Averill House, in Manchester, provides personal and nursing care for up to 48 adults, including people living with dementia and people with mental health conditions. At the time of the CQC assessment, 46 people were living at the home. The service was rated Requires Improvement overall, with a continued breach relating to safe management of medicines and inconsistent risk assessments.

Inspectors found people and relatives felt safe and spoke positively about kind, dignified staff, though feedback on staffing levels was mixed and communal lounges were sometimes left unsupervised. Care records were not consistently accurate, and people were not always involved in reviewing their own care plans. Governance processes had not picked up these gaps, though no evidence of actual harm was found.
