Atholl House Nursing Home

Atholl House Nursing Home is a nursing home providing care to adults of all ages living with dementia, nursing needs and physical disabilities. Following concerns raised, the CQC found the provider had not made improvements needed since the last assessment. Care plans were not always clear or followed, medicines were not always managed safely, and staffing levels were not always sufficient.

Oversight of the home's quality and safety was not effective, and the provider was found in breach of regulations on safe care, staffing and governance.

Inspectors did find staff were safely recruited, well trained, and felt supported at work, and safeguarding procedures were followed. Feedback from people living there was mixed: some raised concerns about staffing and culture, while others were satisfied with medicines management, the environment and how the home was run overall.
