Apley Grange

Apley Grange provides personal and nursing care to 38 people aged 65 and over across three specialised areas. Hilda House supports people living relatively independently, Margaret's House provides nursing care, and Cornelia House specialises in dementia care, including nursing support where needed. Staff safely recruited and deployed in sufficient numbers to provide patient and caring support. People were safely supported to meet their needs and improve their quality of life, with staff demonstrating understanding of individual needs and risks.

Medicines were managed and administered safely. The registered manager promoted a very person-centred culture and was highly responsive to feedback, clearly committed to continual improvement. Staff worked together effectively to meet people's needs. Some documentation gaps were identified, including missing safety checks for bed rails and window restrictors, and incomplete health declarations for staff. Risk assessments would benefit from more detailed information in some areas.
