About Abbey House

Abbey House is a residential care home in Leicester. Details of the Care Quality Commission's most recent findings are set out below.

Abbey House provides personal care for up to 37 older people, including those living with dementia, mental health conditions, sensory impairments and physical disabilities. The CQC rated the home Good overall, finding improvements since previous breaches around dignity, safe care, staffing and governance had been resolved. Inspectors found a warm, attentive atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, safe medicines management and good communication between teams.

Some shortfalls remained: cleanliness was mostly high but with occasional infection control lapses, and staff did not always respond promptly to people's immediate needs, such as calls for assistance or drinks during mealtimes. Relatives praised staff as kind and caring, describing feeling reassured their family members were safe and well looked after.
