This residential care home supports up to 25 older people with dementia, mental health concerns, physical disability, and sensory impairment, with 19 people using the service at inspection. The home provides personal care in one adapted building. However, inspectors found that people were not always supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives, and staff did not always support them in the least restrictive way possible. The principles of the Mental Capacity Act had not been fully implemented regarding medicines. Assessments to determine whether people had capacity to make informed decisions about refusing medication had not been undertaken, and the best interest process had not been followed to evidence decisions to administer medicines without people's knowledge, disguised in food or drink.

Sufficient care staff were employed to meet people's needs, though housekeeping, laundry and catering staff worked part-time, with care staff covering their duties in their absence. The provider had begun recruiting dedicated staff for deep cleaning following concerns identified at the previous inspection.
