5 Whitby Road Care Home

The care home provides personal care for up to 37 older people, including those living with dementia, across two separate wings. At inspection, 25 residents were living at the service, with one wing specializing in dementia care.

Staff maintained strong infection control practices, including comprehensive cleaning schedules and adequate supplies of PPE such as aprons, gloves and masks. Additional screening checks were completed for people entering and leaving the service. Regular COVID-19 testing was in place for both staff and residents. The home supported people and relatives to maintain contact using technology, with risk assessments regularly updated to reflect visiting guidance, ensuring people could safely spend time with loved ones.
