About Turning Point - Parkview

Turning Point - Parkview is a residential care home in Hertfordshire, providing accommodation and personal care for people with a learning disability and autistic people. Details of the most recent CQC findings are set out below.

Turning Point - Parkview is a residential care home providing accommodation and personal care for up to seven people, including people with a learning disability and autistic people. The CQC rated it Requires Improvement overall, with inspectors finding breaches around medicines, infection control, safeguarding, staff skills and management oversight. Medicines were not stored safely, hazardous substances were left unlocked, and some areas were not clean.

Inspectors found care was often task focused rather than person centred, with minimal engagement and people left with little meaningful activity. Staff did not always uphold people's privacy or dignity, and some safeguarding incidents went unreported. Although the new management team recognised shortfalls and had improvement plans, the CQC found progress slow and existing audits had missed some issues identified during the assessment.
