Seymour House

Seymour House is a residential care home supporting a maximum of 11 adults with learning disabilities and those on the autism spectrum across two adjoined and one detached property. At inspection, five people were supported in the main premises whilst the detached building underwent refurbishment. The service has established systems to safeguard residents, with staff demonstrating clear understanding of individual risks and taking action to prevent harm. Relatives expressed confidence in the safety arrangements, with one commenting that staff "have got everything for [family member's] safety" and another noting adequate staffing levels and staff awareness of their needs.

The home provides person-centred care planning involving residents and their families in reviews of their care arrangements. Staff receive mandatory training alongside specialised courses in autism awareness and positive behaviour support to meet individual needs. People are supported to access healthcare services as required, and the environment has been adapted to improve accessibility to facilities. The service empowers residents to have maximum choice and control over their lives, with staff supporting them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests.
