About Seymour House

Seymour House is a residential care home in Slough that supports people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Details of the most recent CQC assessment are set out below.

Seymour House is a care home without nursing that supports people with learning disabilities and/or autism. Following concerns about care, risks, medicines and staffing, the CQC assessed the service and found it Requires Improvement overall. Inspectors identified breaches relating to risk management, safe recruitment, premises and equipment safety, consent, person-centred care and governance, putting people at increased risk of harm.

Staff did not always communicate well with people, involve them fully in decisions, or support meaningful activities and community access. Relatives were generally happy with care, but inspectors found inconsistent understanding of people's needs among staff. The provider must strengthen oversight and staff skills to ensure safer, more personalised care.
