Old School House

Old School House provides personal care for up to 12 older adults in a period property with an extension, featuring a lounge, dining area, and secure garden. At inspection, 11 residents lived at the home. People and relatives consistently praised the quality of care, with comments including "My mother's general hygiene and appearance has always been of a high standard and meals are good, wholesome and freshly made" and "My mother has been happy and very well cared for." Staff were described as kind and caring, and the registered manager as approachable and open. One relative stated they would readily recommend the service to others.

However, inspectors identified areas for improvement. The registered manager did not always notify CQC of events they were legally required to report. While staff had received training to safely administer prescribed medicines, medicine records did not consistently meet national guidelines. Some medicines lacked opening dates and some were returned to the pharmacy while still prescribed.
